Business growth activities include fostering and developing new businesses that are focussed on exports.
The Centres of Excellence programme is about driving the development of two key Centres by 2010 –
1) Screen and Digital Technologies: The establishment of The Institute for Screen Innovation and The Douglas Lilburn Studios is underway
2) Biotechnology and Life Sciences: The establishment of the Herc Education and Research Collaborative at Wellington Hospital is progressing.
There are also activities in the investment area with the Angel HQ programme.
Grow Wellington is driving the broadband uptake strategy for the region and the 'Telling The Region’s Story' project.
Grow Wellington has produced Wellington Regional Outlook which is a guide to the Wellington regional economy.
