WRS COMMITTEE

Successful regions of the world have proactive and innovative leadership. The governance of the strategy is the responsibility of the WRS Committee. The Committee was set up to facilitate leadership and partnerships that will give life to the strategy.

The Committee has a range of tasks, including:

  • recommends investment to support strategy actions
  • sets out the focus for activity
  • maintains regular contact with key partners
  • monitors progress towards our goals
  • continually reviews the strategy to keep it live and relevant
  • monitors the performance of Grow Wellington.

The Committee operates under the legal structure of Greater Wellington Regional Council, on behalf of the councils of the region.

There are also five independent appointees representing private sector and business interests:
