The Urban Design Forum NZ
The Urban Design Forum NZ promotes cross-disciplinary understanding of urban design to raise awareness at the national and local levels of the benefits of urban design and to provide a forum for discussion of design-based approaches that are relevant to the development and management of New Zealand towns and cities.
Urban NZ
Urban NZ was created to be an independent forum for the specialist knowledge of experts (urban designers, planners, transport planners, architects and landscape architects, surveyors, engineers and many more). It provides coverage of the issues facing urban design and urban planning, and areas which are closely related to this sector.

Carterton South Structure Plan
Carterton District Council have prepared a Carterton South Structure Plan as a direct result of submissions to the Proposed Wairarapa Combined District Plan, which identified the need for a Structure Plan to be developed for this area.
Maymorn Structure Plan, Upper Hutt City
The Maymorn area was identified in Upper Hutt City's Urban Growth Strategy as a site that was suitable for future development and land supply. The Maymorn Structure Plan will guide future land uses, infrastrucure provision and potential development within the defined area.
Upper Hutt City Design Guidelines for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (July 2009)
These design guidelines provide direction for the design of spaces and buildings to ensure that the physical environment promotes safe movement through and enjoyment of the city. They are based on the principles of CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design) and the National Guidelines for CPTED published by the Ministry of Justice.

The Urban Land Institute is a worldwide, non-profit research and education organisation that provides leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating sustainable communities. This website provides links to publications, case studies, research and worldwide networks.
Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS)
This website is Scotland's national champion for good architecture, design and planning in the built environment. The website has a new resource - LUDO - the Library of Urban Design Online, which is a library of weblinks related to a broad scope of urban design issues divided by scale and theme.

Urban Design Symposium
The Wellington Regional Strategy, in conjunction with the Wellington region's councils and Ministry for the Environment, will be holding this Symposium at Circa Theatre in Wellington on Thursday 19th August 2010. Invites and details will be sent out late July.
Living Streets Aotearoa
Living Streets Aotearoa will be held in Wellington on 2-3 August 2010. The focus is on walking and liveable communities, particularly focussing on the economic value, with the theme "Dollars and Sense of Walking; creating liveable communities".
3rd International Urban Design Conference
This conference, "Designs on our Future", will be held in Canberra, Australia, on 30th August to 1st September 2010. This conference will examine how our new cities are conceived and our existing ones are adapted, re-designed and managed.
Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand
This conference, "From Discovery to Delivery", will be held in Wellington from 26-29 October 2010. Themes include urban challenges, valuing ecosystems, community action, and natural resource governance. |
